At Sound Science we seek to use rigorous conservation research as a platform for capacity building and education. Our organization grew out of a collective desire to make science more inclusive, and we work towards this goal in two main ways: to make careers in conservation science more attainable to future scientists with under-privileged and non-traditional backgrounds, and for our research to be more communicable and understandable to the public.
We strive to educate through research with an emphasis on continued mentorship to provide students the support they need to pursue a career in science and communities the training they require to continue conservation research in their local ecosystems.
We conduct research in an ecologically and socially responsible way to gradually change the culture of science.
